In this historical science fiction novel, thirteen-year-old Cinda Parker knows she and her brother Ian have a special mental connection. When a mysterious stranger, Lexi, arrives from the future, they realize they are more than typical mid-twenty-first century children.

Lexi convinces the siblings to travel back 200 years into the minds and lives of their ancestors, in order to help their father, who is dealing with grief over his own father’s death and anger with his brother’s questionable choices.

When their family line is disrupted, Cinda and Ian learn the true value of one single life.

Voices in the Past, The Journeys Saga, is a spin-off of M.F. Erler’s popular seven-book series: The Peaks Saga. Voices in the Past moves the characters from time-travel future to time-travel past. About the Author | M.F. Erler

M.F. Erler has been writing most of her life. In fact, some of the characters in The Peaks Saga were initially conceived in her youth. Her lifelong goal has been to bring Christian ideas into fantasy-fiction, in the spirit of writers like J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. Now that she has published “The Peaks Saga: The Peaks at the Edge of the World”, she is embarking on a new venture in historical fiction, where her modern-day characters time-travel back into the lives of their ancestors. So in the future, watch for more tales in “Journeys Beyond the Peaks.” Along with fantasy, true science, and science fiction, she is also a student of history, comparative religion, ecology, and music. Previous publications include non-fiction articles in Today’s Christian Parent, and Social Studies and the Young Learner. In addition, she has produced Music in God’s World, a music curriculum for Christian preschools, and Christian Environmental Education Curricula for use in schools and camp settings. Her hobbies include reading, singing, and playing several musical instruments. She and her husband have two adult children. All make their home in the Pacific Northwest.
